Today's reflection related to "Lead Us Not Into Temptation" is also intimately tied to a comforting passage in this age of fear:
“The Lord is my Shepherd”
- … I shall not want: Identify areas where you sense a concern for lacking resources, health protection, wisdom etc. and ask of the Lord. He is your provider and the provider for those around you.
- … He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leads me beside still waters: Green pastures for sheep means an abundance of His provision. Still waters are places of calm contentment under the shepherd's care. Recognize green pastures & still waters in your life. Thank the Lord for the abundance of His provision and accept the ultimate rest he provides.
- … Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me: God, Our Good Shepherd, leads us through dark and shadowy lands. Thank the Lord that he is with us and ask the Lord to lead us not into temptation.
Pray back through the entire Psalm 23, recognizing God's promises for our lives, including family, church, community, nation and His world of people in need.
