Louise Ihm is the Administrative Assistant for Faith Reformed Church. She received her Bachelor of Art from Michigan State University and has done additional coursework in business and computer science. She has also taken numerous painting and art classes downstate and here in Traverse City.
Quick with a bright smile, Louise greets everyone who enters the office at church. She cheerfully helps accomplish all of the work that needs to be done and supports the various ministries of the church. A verse that guides her is Colossians 3:12-14, “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
Louise and her husband David have an elementary-aged son. Louise is a gifted artist, and particularly enjoys painting in acrylics, oils and watercolor. She can even direct you to an outdoor mural she painted on Old Mission Peninsula. The Creative Call, An Artist’s Response to the Way of the Spirit by Janice Elsheimer is a book she recommends to everyone as we are all called to be creative.
