Rev. Drew Poppleton, Ph.D.

Lead Pastor

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Drew serves as Lead Pastor at Faith. He became a Christian through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in college and has served as an ordained pastor since 2005. He holds a Masters of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary (westernsem.edu) and a PhD in Practical Theology from Fuller Seminary (fuller.edu).

It is Pastor Drew’s deep desire to create an environment that is both full of truth and full of grace (John 1:14). He knows that we cannot grow without both being present. The truth provides the necessary challenge while the grace provides the necessary safety and support to navigate the challenge. We tend to err on the side of either grace or truth. But what if it’s possible to create environments of both grace and truth

To get to know Pastor Drew better, you can watch or listen to the story of how he became a Christian. Or maybe watch this message from March 2022, when he shared in a vulnerable way about some of his struggles. To take a deeper dive into his preaching, check out this sermon series on spiritual formation or the Easter 2020 message on how Christ’s resurrection sets in motion God’s plan to renew all of creation.

Drew, his wife Andrea, and their two daughters, Lucy and Claire, made the move to Traverse City in the summer of 2019. Though they relocated from California, Drew hails from Pittsburgh, PA and is familiar with winter. In his free time, Drew loves running while listening to a good podcast, enjoying Northern Michigan with family and friends, and seeking ways to engage others in meaningful conversation.
